Finca del Sol is operated by a small team of workers and volunteers.
Curd runs the farm part-time while working full time for his family’s business.
Lori is the coordinator of the activities and farm projects, and of course we aren’t complete without the valuable help of our farm animals: chickens, pigs, sheep, donkeys and cows.
Volunteering is also a part of Finca del Sol. Thank you Carol for helping us with the Saturday Market. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we thank them for their work, dedication and enthusiasm!

It is an honor to be your family’s farmer, and we are proud to supply your table with fresh, local organic produce.

Our Mission
We take our responsibility seriously to produce the highest quality fresh produce without the use of any toxic chemicals, and we invite you to visit our farm to learn about how we cultivate our crops. We hope to answer most of your questions and invite you to drop us a message and let us know how we may better serve you.

“Growing a healthy future”
We use this slogan as a reminder of the importance of nature, that without it, there’s no life on earth possible. We can start by renewing our relationship with food. This determines the ultimate success of all our cooking and dining, not to mention our health and that of the planet. We’re growing a healthy future by transmitting a sense of belonging to this huge and generous macro-organism that is our Mother Earth, Gaia, and to facilitate a message of active commitment and joy of living to everyone.

What we do
We started by improving our soil quality, and maintaining biodiversity as much as possible, planting different crops, crop rotation, compost, worms. After a couple of years testing our soil we have managed to attain very good results in high quality and delicious produce. We like to design, educate and experiment, and explore new ways of achieving something that has been adapted to our local climate. We then evaluate it and continue to observe its development at our farm. This is always a big adventure, a way of exploring new horizons. And it’s a great satisfaction when we see results, good or bad, just how nature responds. It always does.

The future of Finca del Sol
We’re working towards sustainability of the farm with a system based on Permaculture practices. ‘Permaculture (permanent agriculture) is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of landscape and people providing their food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way. Permaculture design is a system of assembling conceptual, material, and strategic components in a pattern which functions to benefit life in all its forms.*

  • Compiling and presenting information on healthy cooking, organic gardening, recycling, self-healing, natural medicine & ecological awareness
